Battlefield 6 Fans Slam Weak Grenade Launcher Performance

For many Battlefield fans, the thrill has always been in experimenting with different weapons and gadgets, tweaking loadouts until something clicks and changes the flow of a match. But in the latest entry—what most players casually call Battlefield 6—there’s one gadget that’s been sparking more groans than cheers: the underbarrel grenade launcher. It’s not just mild disappointment either; plenty of players are flat-out calling it “pointless,” especially after grinding through matches to unlock it. Some even admit they’ve looked into services like Battlefield 6 Boosting just to skip the frustration of earning gear that doesn’t pull its weight.

The main gripe? It hits like a wet sponge. The blast radius is so small you’d think it was a firecracker, and the damage barely dents enemy armor. I’ve seen clips where a grenade lands right under someone’s feet—perfect placement—and the target just shrugs it off. Even a direct hit often won’t finish the job. For a weapon that’s supposed to be about explosive impact, it feels oddly timid, and that mismatch between expectation and reality is what’s driving a lot of the backlash.

Veterans can’t help but compare it to the M320 from Battlefield 3 and 4. Back then, these launchers were feared tools—great for clearing tight corridors, blasting through cover, or forcing stubborn defenders out of hiding. They weren’t perfect and could be risky to use, but that was part of the appeal. Now, instead of that satisfying “boom” that changes the momentum of a fight, the current version feels like a watered-down imitation. It’s hard not to feel like something important has been lost along the way.

There’s a theory floating around—and honestly, it makes sense—that DICE deliberately nerfed it to avoid the “noob tube” chaos from earlier games. Back then, some players spammed grenade launchers for easy kills, and it drove others mad. Maybe this is an overcorrection, an attempt to push players toward more precise gunplay. But if that’s the case, they might have gone too far. The balance is so skewed now that the launcher isn’t just less dominant—it’s barely worth equipping at all.

That gap in utility has ripple effects. Without a reliable way to flush out campers or crack open fortified spots, teams lean harder on frag grenades, C5, or certain Specialist gadgets. It changes how choke points are attacked and defended, often making entrenched positions a nightmare to break. The absence of a functional mid-range explosive option means one less tool in the sandbox, and you can feel that limitation in the way matches unfold.

Plenty of players are still holding out hope that DICE will tweak the stats—maybe a modest bump to damage or a slightly bigger blast radius—to make it worth carrying again. It wouldn’t take much to bring it back into the meta as a situational but valuable choice. Until then, people will keep adapting, finding other ways to gain the upper hand, and yes, some will continue browsing Battlefield 6 Boosting for sale to get to the gear that actually makes a difference. The game’s always evolving, but right now, this particular gadget feels like it’s stuck in neutral.
