Arrakis is Buy Dune Awakening Items a land of shifting sands, brutal politics, and unforgiving combat. To survive here, you’ll need more than spice and guile—you’ll need mastery of the blade. In Dune: Awakening, the Swordmaster class represents the pinnacle of martial prowess, blending fluid swordplay with disciplined combat techniques that make you a terror in both duels and larger skirmishes. But before you can call yourself a Swordmaster, you’ll need to find your trainer and prove yourself worthy. This guide covers the first critical steps—how to locate Arno, the Basic Swordmaster Trainer, and how to complete the questline that unlocks your initial skill tree.

Why Swordmaster?

The Swordmaster is one of the most rewarding classes to play because it offers three complementary paths:

  • The Blade – a tree focused on high-damage sword attacks, perfect for players who like aggressive offense.

  • The Will – defensive techniques that allow you to block, reduce incoming damage, and stay in the fight longer.

  • The Way – utility and movement options, including gap-closers that let you pin down slippery foes.

Whether you prefer player-versus-environment (PvE) encounters or heated player-versus-player (PvP) duels, this class allows for a flexible playstyle.

Finding Arno, the Basic Swordmaster Trainer

Your first step toward Swordmastery begins at Pinnacle Station, a key tradepost located in the Jabal Eifrit Al-gharb region. This outpost sits close to the Eastern Shield Wall, making it relatively accessible if you’ve been progressing through the early stages of the game.

Once there, seek out Arno, the Basic Swordmaster Trainer. He’s an NPC who introduces you to the way of the sword and offers your first class-unlock quest. Arno is easy to spot in Pinnacle Station, but don’t expect him to hand you the Swordmaster class immediately—first you’ll have to prove yourself in his trial.

Quest: “Checking the Post”

Arno’s first mission for you is called Checking the Post. On the surface, it sounds straightforward: investigate three locations across Arrakis and recover items from each. In practice, it’s a challenging trek across dangerous regions filled with hostile wildlife, rival factions, and environmental hazards. Here’s how to complete it:

  1. Devil’s Eye Cavern (Jabal Eifrit Northeast)
Head into the cavern, clear out enemies, and locate a hidden room. Inside, you’ll find a crate you need to interact with.

  2. The Wreck of the Pallas (Western Vermillius Gap)
This downed craft is crawling with dangers. Make your way to the second floor of the wreck and scan an ID band found in one of the rooms.

  3. Testing Station 76 (Northeast of the Pallas)
Your final destination is a testing outpost. Push to the end of the facility, where you’ll find a computer console. Interact with it to complete this step.

Once you’ve collected all three items, return to Pinnacle Station and speak with Arno again.

Rewards and Unlock

Completing “Checking the Post” unlocks the Swordmaster class for your character. This gives you access to your skill trees, and you can begin investing skill points into The Blade, The Will, or The Way. More importantly, you’ll gain the right to wield sword techniques that define your combat identity on Arrakis.

At this stage, you are officially a Swordmaster Initiate. However, your journey is far from over. These first quests are designed to test your determination, but the real training—and the best rewards—await further down the line.

Tips for Completing the Quest

  • Bring Gear: Devil’s Eye Cavern and Testing Station 76 both contain strong enemies. Bring medium-tier armor and a reliable ranged weapon to thin groups before closing in.

  • Travel Prepared: The desert is dangerous. Stock up on water, spice-related buffs, and repair kits before setting out.

  • Fast Travel: Once you’ve reached one tradepost in the region, use the fast travel network to reduce time spent backtracking.

  • Play Smart: If enemies prove overwhelming, kite them into choke points or retreat, heal, and re-engage. Swordmasters are durable but not invincible.

Looking Ahead

Unlocking Swordmaster is just the beginning. After Arno’s initiation quest, your next destination will eventually be Harko Village, where the Advanced Trainer, Seron Varlin, will push you to new limits with more challenging quests and unique rewards—including access to one of the best pre-endgame swords.

But every legendary journey begins with a first step, and for Swordmasters, that first step is Arno at Pinnacle Station. Conquer his trial, and you’ll Cheap Dune Awakening Items emerge ready to carve your destiny in the sands of Arrakis.
