We are engaged on social media, along together with players. I spend my evenings and talk to them about the design of content and quests and am able to get extremely strong opinions with OSRS Fire Cape regarding how things are conducted. I also share my thoughts as well and we bounce between us often about compromises and how things are being done and what could be done, and how they should be executed.

Have you Jagex seen an increase in its popularity since this release? Does it have an impact on plans for games in general to come?

There have been multiple consecutive years of growth and OSRS is definitely a major component of it. Old School itself, even when you factor in those numbers for mobile, has been growing in terms of membership and players at any given moment, and RuneScape is also seeing advantages of mobile. We're especially fortunate on RuneScape since the Archaeology feature was released on March 30th, right when lockdown was becoming more severe for many players, and is resulting in some of the most high numbers of players over the last five years.

We'll definitely keep mobile at top of our thoughts when creating new content to be used in RuneScape. Farms owned by players that were released in the last year, were created to be played at the toilet and checking in on brief sessions to check what you're strawberry farms are faring. We also have a group committed to the enjoyment of engaging in this game by taking away friction points, and making sure the game's opening is polished and the primary reason to that is mobility.

What is the future plan for RuneScape in the wake of this move? Are there other projects in the pipeline?

We want users to feel they are able to log into RuneScape anytime they like. This was the motivation behind RuneScape Mobile, and it will remain so with certain things we're planning in the near and longer term. It makes so much sense to play a game like RuneScape that you can gain progress in a short amount of time and everything you do enhances and enriches your character. There's more than 20 years of content included in the game, and yet it's not an enormous large, bloated and heavy game, which makes it difficult to adapt on other platforms. I believe you'll see many announcements about this in the near future along with regular updates to the game for players to sink their hands on.

Are there any other things you'd like to include?

We hope you enjoy Desperate Measures! We're thrilled that the game will reveal some of the mysteries that have been tangled their ways throughout Desperate Times, Anachronia, as well as additional updates, we're more thrilled about the storylines that start by completing this mission. We hope you'll take part in Desperate Measures and experience a rising momentum to the stories we're planning reveal soon, including Elder God Wars Dungeon, and the magnitude that these new updates will have. Additionally, the implications of these updates for the game, and the our world are thrilling!

The Desperate Measures update, which has been officially released today was discussed during the development process of the counterpart Desperate Times. The place it is on the development timeline was "shuffled around" because of other projects such as the addition with OSRS Fire Cape For Sale of the newest skill in RuneScape Archaeology in March according to Crowther. This means Jagex was undergoing the new quest's development after the epidemic was in full swing and the situation was "less than perfect."
