Last Epoch: How To Enchant Idols

Idols in Last Epoch are more than just trinkets; they are powerful customization tools that can significantly enhance your character's build. With the right affixes, Idols can provide crucial resistances, damage boosts, or utility, patching up weaknesses and amplifying strengths. While you find Idols throughout your travels, true optimization comes from knowing how to "enchant" them through the game's robust crafting system Last Epoch Gold.

Understanding Idol Crafting Materials

Glyph of Chaos: This serves as your main "enchanting" Glyph for Idols. It re-rolls all current affixes on the Idol into new, random affixes of the same tier. This is the method you employ to achieve the ideal combination of stats.

Glyph of Order: When enhancing an affix (which is less frequent for Idols since you typically desire entirely new affixes through Chaos), this Glyph guarantees that the affix's tier and value remain intact if the upgrade does not succeed. While it is not as essential for the initial enchantment, it is crucial for refining rolls.

Glyph of Hope: This essential Glyph provides you with a 100% chance that your crafting action will not consume any Forging Potential. Utilizing it wisely can conserve significant resources, enabling more enchantment attempts on a single Idol.

Obtaining these Glyphs, along with other crafting materials and even quality base Idols, frequently requires the expenditure of Last Epoch Gold. Although the crafting process itself utilizes materials rather than gold directly, gold serves as the universal currency for trading, ensuring you possess the necessary resources for your enchanting activities.

The Enchanting Process: Using the Forge
All crafting in Last Epoch takes place in the Forge, accessible by pressing 'B' (default key). Here's a step-by-step guide to enchanting your Idols:

Open the Forge: Press 'B' to bring up the crafting interface.
Place Your Idol: Drag and drop the Idol you wish to enchant from your inventory into the item slot in the Forge.
Select Your Glyph: From the crafting panel on the right, select the Glyph you want to use. For re-rolling affixes on an Idol, the Glyph of Chaos is almost always your go-to choice.
Execute the Craft: Once the Idol and Glyph are in place, left-click the crafting button at the bottom of the Forge window.
Each crafting action consumes a certain amount of the Idol's Forging Potential (FP). This unique resource acts as a crafting "budget" for each item. Once an Idol's FP reaches zero, you can no longer modify it. This is where Glyph of Hope becomes crucial, as it allows you to bypass FP consumption for one craft.

Alternatively, if you have ample Last Epoch Gold for sale, you might find a perfectly rolled Idol on the Bazaar (trade market) that saves you the crafting headache.

Mastering the art of enchanting Idols is a significant step towards optimizing your character's power in Last Epoch. With a clear understanding of the crafting process, strategic use of Glyphs, and a bit of patience, you'll soon be rolling perfectly tailored Idols to dominate Eterra.
