The EA Sports FC release date is September 29. Early access for the game will now be a full week long, beginning on September 22 for those who qualify.

What is EA FC 24 Ultimate Team?

Since 1993, FIFA has lent its name to Electronic Arts products in more than 30 games, but this will change starting in 2024. The EA-FIFA partnership has come to an end, but the game's development rights will remain with Electronic Arts, allowing them to continue producing the market-leading football game on their own. In practice, this change won't have a significant impact as the game modes (including Ultimate Team), leagues, team, and player licenses will all remain intact. The most notable change will be the use of the name itself, as starting from September, we'll be able to purchase the current edition under the name EA Sports FC.

While the name might have changed, EA Sports FC is still going to be a FIFA game and thus the gameplay will largely be similar. There might be a few new mechanics and buzzwords like HyperMotion, but in the end, it's still a football simulation with an arcade-esque tinge to it.

What we might see born from the relinquishing of the FIFA name however is new game modes, or overhauls of previous series stalwarts. We do not know the inner workings of the deal between EA and FIFA, but the nature of EA having full control over the game could see some interesting new mechanics added.

Squad Battles. Offline games against the computer. Possibility for rewards.

Ultimate Team Draft. Online and offline possible. You can only enter the draft by paying 15.000 coins or 300 FIFA points. You play four matches in total, the more you win the better the rewards.

Division Rivals. Online matches in a division-system. The higher your division rank, the better the rewards. The system rewards players both weekly and seasonally.
